Ebenezer Scrooge is a miser…just ask his faithful employee Bob Cratchitt. So it’s no surprise that when Scrooge goes home on Christmas Eve, he expects a night like any other: a solitary evening complete with a meager meal and turning in early to bed.  But when he is awakened by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley and told that he must change his ways to avoid a terrible fate, Scrooge is whisked away on a journey through his life that he never expected.

Playwright Tracy Wells embraces everything that has made Dickens' classic endure for generations.  In addition, she has smartly expanded the roles of characters like Belle, Fan, and Mrs. Cratchit, giving greater depth to the women whose lives help shape Scrooge's journey. An ensemble of Storytellers carries Dickens' original prose through the production, allowing his wit, humor, and lyricism to echo beyond the pages of his novel. Use them as individual tracks for a large cast, or double-cast with named characters for a smaller cast size. 

In summary: everything we love about A Christmas Carol, but with more good stuff for the women, and flexibly-cast Storytellers. It's the opposite of a bah humbug.
